I've spent two decades working as a lawyer, including significant in-house experience getting to know businesses from the inside. I understand the pressures that business owners face, and what legal advice should be in the real world; no jargon and no long winded letters. This broad foundation, combined with my focus on employment law, means I bring both legal expertise and genuine commercial understanding to every matter.
-
You will get a personalised, transparent and straightforward experience when dealing with me. I’m here to learn about what makes your business tick, and offer practical legal advice so you can focus on growing your business.

Absolutely. The benefit of engaging Workplace Navigator over an HR consultant is that legal professional privilege applies to any legal advice I give you. This means your matter is handled with the strictest of confidence.
-
Where possible, I operate on a fixed-fee basis so you know the cost upfront — no surprises. For matters where a fixed fee isn't practical, I'll discuss pricing openly with you before any work begins.

Yes. It's a genuine opportunity for us to discuss your situation and see if I'm the right fit. There's no cost and no obligation to proceed.
-
That's exactly why I provide a free 15-minute chat. Many clients are unsure whether their situation needs legal advice. Rather than speaking with a receptionist or an AI bot, when you call Workplace Navigator, you speak directly with me.
-
Absolutely. Some clients need help with one specific issue such as an employee dismissal or a difficult conversation. In fact, early legal advice can make all the difference. Getting the right steps in place from the outset is far more cost-effective than dealing with problems once they have escalated. This is when ongoing guidance or advice can matter.
Conversely, some clients come to me when a workplace issue has escalated or a dispute has arisen. These situations can arise unexpectedly to any business. Perhaps you had an employee who wasn't working out, you sat down with them and had a difficult conversation or two. You thought you handled it well. Suddenly there's a letter from the Fair Work Commission in your inbox and you can't work out how you ended up here. Australian workplace law has become genuinely complicated and this is where I can help navigate what comes next.
Whether it’s a one-off issue or ongoing support, contact me for practical legal advice tailored to your business and situation.
-
No problem at all. If your matter falls outside my expertise, I'll be upfront about that during our chat and happy to point you toward someone who can help.
-

Yes, representing employers before the Fair Work Commission is a core part of what I do. I offer representation at the conciliation stage on a fixed-fee basis. Should the matter proceed further, I am a confident litigator in the courtroom.
With Workplace Navigator, you get a lawyer — not a middleman. I provide full representation from start to finish with the experience, qualifications and accountability you can rely on.

The Fair Work Commission is Australia’s workplace relations tribunal responsible for helping resolve workplace disputes. Conciliation is the first step in resolving a dispute between you and an employee. It is essentially a form of mediation whereby both parties (along with their representatives) meet with a conciliator and discuss their version of events. This is not a court hearing and the conciliator does not make judgements. It is up to the parties to decide whether they can mutually reach an agreement.
-
The vast majority of unfair dismissal claims — over 80% — resolve at or before conciliation. If your matter is among the minority that proceed to a formal hearing, I can continue to represent you but will provide you with a clear costs estimate before any further work is undertaken. Full transparency around legal costs, with all fees clearly explained and agreed in advance.

Procedural fairness is the act of being appropriate and compliant with industrial law prior to terminating an employee. Early strategic advice matters and can help you avoid costly litigation down the track.

Positive duty is an employer’s responsibility to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. Most employers are aware of their legal responsibility to respond to such claims, but few realise they also have positive duty.
